On 9 June 2023, the Undersecretary for Health Strategies of the Ministry of Health of Argentina, Juan Manuel Castelli, visited the headquarters of CISP in Rome where he was received by the Director of CISP, Mr. Sandro De Luca, the President of CISP, Ms. Maura Viezzoli and the Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr.Luigi Grando.
Mr. Castelli, on the occasion of an official visit to Rome, wanted to have this meeting to thank CISP for the key role and commitment in the donation to the Argentine government of a container of therapeutic foods intended for children under 5 suffering from severe malnutrition. The products were obtained from the French company NUTRISET, leader in the sector.
In Argentina CISP is currently working on a disaster prevention project financed by ECHO and aimed at the indigenous communities of the Gran Chaco. The project is being implemented through a fruitful coordination and in close collaboration with the Argentine authorities, in particular with the Ministry of Health, whose collaboration allowed us to guarantee the arrival of products for the treatment of acute malnutrition in Argentina. These products will benefit the communities of three provinces particularly affected by the food emergency and will guarantee treatment for more than 1,500 children.
CISP Director Mr. Sandro De Luca thanked the Argentine Ministry of Health for the collaboration and Mr. Castelli for the kind visit, and confirmed that CISP will continue its support and commitment to transform rights into concrete facts for people.
