The project sets in motion inter-institutional articulation mechanisms to implement climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies in urban and peri-urban areas of the federated states of Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo, in Venezuela.
In this way, the project contributes to the promotion of effective environmental management actions aimed at climate change mitigation and adaptation for sustainable development.
The protagonists of the action are universities, civil society organisations and local institutions, which, at the end of the project, will have acquired basic information, knowledge and skills for the implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation actions. This process of knowledge enhancement leads to the participatory creation and, later on, to the implementation of a pilot action of mitigation and adaptation to climate change built and carried out by local communities, CSOs and local authorities and enterprises.
