Support to the Lebanese Red Cross for system strengthening
Description
CISP support to the Lebanese Red Cross is an extensive programme aimed at strengthening the pre-hospital medical emergency service throughout Lebanon (North, South, Centre and Bekaa) through three projects that have taken place over the years, from 2001 to 2014.

OBJECTIVES
The three different projects improve the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) medical emergency response capacities through a series of activities including:
Training of LRC volunteers and staff on basic and specialist first aid practices
Organisation and management of the service
Training stages in Italy at specialised public facilities
Provision of first aid equipment to LRC stations throughout the country
Construction/rehabilitation works at some LRC stations
Provision of ambulances
Creation of a centralised digital information system (National Operations Centre) for responding to emergency calls
Organisation of the system and provision of software and hardware for call management
Provision of an operations centre for responding to maxi-emergencies
Technical assistance/consultancy from experts and specialised international institutions (including ARES 118 of the Lazio Region) for the improvement of the information system and intervention protocols
