Habana CreActiva

The project brings together public and private actors to promote the economic and social development of the country through culture and contributes to inclusive and sustainable local development processes in Havana, based on the potential of the cultural and creative sector. 

Habana CreActiva gives visibility to the cultural potential of the Municipality of Playa through a survey involving public, private and civil society actors; it encourages better coordination among actors who, from different sectors, influence the territory; and promotes the establishment of a creative district in the Municipality of Playa as an area of economic development based on culture that brings together various potentials in terms of actors, interrelationships, collective identities, cultural traditions and innovation. 

Habana CreActiva aims to be an incubator for cultural and creative initiatives at the University of Arts in Havana; it supports cultural and creative initiatives through the provision of training and resources and provides a platform of creative connections for the promotion and marketing of cultural and creative products and services. The project stimulates the exchange between European and Latin American experiences and the adaptation of successful practices to the Cuban context.
