CISP, in collaboration with the National Institute for the Analysis of Public Policies (INAPP) and the Department of Education Sciences of the University of Genoa, participated in a research survey entitled Children's Worlds - International Survey of Children's Well-Being-Covid 19 Supplement, whose objective was to investigate, from children’s perspectives, the impact of the pandemic and resultant social restrictions on children’s lives and well-being.
Coordinated by the International Society for Child Indicators (ISCI), the survey was carried out in over 30 countries and involved around 1000 children, boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 12 in each country, allowing them to evaluate their well-being. CISP participated in the survey both in Italy and Colombia.
In Italy, the survey was carried out in 15 regions (Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Tuscany, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Sardinia, and Sicily).
Listening to the direct voice of the interviewed children is important to help the adults in their lives (parents and teachers) to more effectively accompany their development. Their answers, in fact, help us to understand more deeply how they feel in order to then be able to plan actions that promote their well-being.
The questionnaire contained a number of items grouped into four broad themes:
Discussing the results with the children themselves can be an opportunity to open up a pedagogical and empowerment space and an opportunity to reflect with them on their situation.
