Actions of health prevention and psychosocial support to the most vulnerable in the municipalities of Miliana and Janet
Description
The project supports local communities in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic:
in the north, in the Wilaya (Region) of Ain Defla (Miliana), one of the areas most affected by the virus, but also socio-economically disadvantaged as a mountainous area
in the south, in the Wilaya (Region) of Illizi (Janet), a desert area far from health services and hospitals.
The project works with associations active in the region recognised by the local authorities and aims to strengthen technical, logistical and risk-analysis capacities to guide emergency interventions, raise awareness of pandemic risks and prevention measures.
It is mainly aimed at the most vulnerable people facing psychosocial and food emergencies generated or aggravated by the health emergency. The project reaches about 1,500 people (300 families) through solidarity food baskets, about 1,000 people through awareness-raising materials, about 250 people activated and become volunteers for information campaigns and 10 civil society organisations involved.
