This project aims to strengthen the food security of Sahrawi refugees by monitoring the monthly distributions of basic rations provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) and collecting feedback from beneficiaries through regular focus group discussions and periodic sample surveys.
As part of its assistance to Sahrawi refugees, CISP - in collaboration with the Sahrawi Red Crescent and WFP - produces a television programme to raise awareness on good food practices in order to improve the use of food distributed by humanitarian actors.
In a context of dependence on external food aid and deteriorating nutritional indicators such as anaemia, this project was designed with the refugees themselves and relies on Haha, a well-known local chef who has been running the programme since its launch in 2012. The programme is produced by a local production team in a fully equipped television studio.
